What is the cost of your service calls?
Our service calls are $80, plus the cost of any needed repairs. Repair costs can vary depending on the issue, and we’ll provide an estimate after diagnosing the problem.
What is the best air filter for my system?
The best filter is one that provides good filtration without restricting airflow. One-inch filters work well up to a MERV rating of 8, while four- to five-inch filters can handle higher ratings without impacting airflow.
I can get the part online cheaper than you quoted me. Can you just charge me labor for installing the part?
No. We use trusted local suppliers so that if a part is defective, we can warranty it directly through them. If you supply your own part, we can’t provide that warranty. In some cases, we may install customer-supplied thermostats, but we cannot warranty them.
What can I do to maintain my equipment?
We recommend:
- Changing air filters monthly.
- Treating your drain line with bleach or cleaning vinegar.
For all other repairs, including thermostat issues, we recommend calling a professional. We’ve seen many situations where DIY thermostat installations caused system failures.
Do you do new construction?
Not at this time. New construction is a specialized market we currently do not serve.
What is the best system for my home?
That depends on your goals:
- Basic comfort: A standard 14 SEER system sized to your home.
- Improved efficiency: A 15–16 SEER or two-stage system.
- Top performance: A high SEER inverter system with advanced features.
All systems provide cooling—it really comes down to your budget and preferences (think Chevy vs. Porsche).
My AC keeps my home at the right temperature, but humidity still feels high. How can I fix this?
High indoor humidity can be caused by many factors, including poor insulation in older homes or a system that is oversized and cools too quickly. A full diagnosis of your home and system is the best way to determine the cause and solution.
How much are installations or new systems?
Installation costs vary based on the application, system size, and efficiency level. It’s not uncommon for installs to range from $10,000 to $15,000.
Can I do my own repairs?
It’s not recommended. While it’s your equipment, DIY repairs can void warranties and cause further damage. Major repairs also require refrigerant, which can only be purchased with an EPA certification and contractor’s license.
If I work on my equipment and damage it, will you warranty the damage?
No, we cannot warranty damage caused by customer repairs.
Do you pull permits for your installs?
Yes, we handle all required permit paperwork with the local government.
I have dirt or mold around my vents. Do you provide duct cleaning services?
No. We do not provide duct cleaning because it rarely solves the problem. In most cases, we recommend a full duct system replacement instead.
What is a SEER rating?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It measures how efficient a system is throughout the year. A higher SEER rating means greater efficiency.
